3 Months in Juvenile Jail for Myspace comments

The case of the corrupt judge Mark A. Ciavarella is shocking. Between the years 2002 to 2006 judge Ciavarella sent one of every four kids brought before him to jail. He confessed in receiving more than 2.6 Million Dollars in bribe from companies that operated these juvenile jails.

The New York Times recorded stories of four kids who were sent to jail by Ciavarella for amazingly minor offenses. The last story, by Hillary Transue, is remarkable. She was sent to 3 months of juvenile correction wilderness camp for messages posted on her Myspace page regarding her vice-principle.

The thought that in Israel the first privately-run prison is about to open, gives me the shivers.
